Connects 9-pin or 25-pin serial devices to USB with included adapter and drivers
The Bluecctv BL-800A adds a serial port to a PC or DVR through a USB connection. It supports 9-pin RS-232 devices directly and 25-pin equipment via the supplied adapter. The three-foot cable suits installers who need legacy serial connectivity on modern hardware.
Drivers are provided on the included CD for Windows 98, 2000, ME, XP and Vista plus Mac OS 8 or higher. The adapter is FCC and CE approved. Builders without a CD drive or running unsupported operating systems will need to source drivers elsewhere.
The link maintains a steady RS-232 data stream for modems, industrial gear or surveillance recorders without the timing jitter common on short-burst USB traffic. It draws power from the USB port so no external supply is required. Users needing galvanic isolation or multi-port expansion should consider a different solution.

After installing the drivers from the included CD, check Device Manager for a new COM port when the adapter is plugged into USB; the port should appear without error codes.
The package includes the 3-foot USB to RS-232 9-pin cable, a 25-pin serial adapter, and a drivers CD; no extra parts are required for 25-pin devices.
Supported Windows versions are 98, 2000, ME, XP and Vista; Mac OS 8 or higher is also supported.
