Receives video from 16 cameras over CAT5 UTP with 6 MHz bandwidth and 6 kV transient protection
The Bluecctv BL-EV16AR-1U is a 16-channel active video receiver built for surveillance systems that use twisted-pair cabling. It converts balanced signals from up to sixteen cameras back to unbalanced BNC outputs for recording or monitoring equipment. The unit operates on AC 100-240 V at 50/60 Hz and includes 6 kV transient protection to IEC 61000-4-5.
Installers running 24 AWG UTP CAT5 or higher between cameras and a central rack will benefit from the active equalisation and 60 dB common-mode rejection from 15 kHz to 6 MHz. Sites that already use coaxial cable throughout, or that need fewer than sixteen channels, should look at simpler passive baluns or smaller multi-receivers.
The receiver expects a 100 ohm UTP or RJ-45 input and presents a 75 ohm BNC output, with a video response from DC to 6 MHz and a maximum differential capacitance of 62 pF per metre. If your cable plant or camera outputs do not match those impedance and bandwidth figures, the unit will not deliver a usable picture.

It lets you run sixteen separate camera feeds over UTP cable to one rack unit, converting each balanced signal back to 75-ohm BNC without needing individual baluns at the DVR end.
The 100-ohm UTP ports accept 24 AWG CAT5 or higher with a 6 MHz video frequency response, so the cable plant and the receiver's 60 dB common-mode rejection set the practical distance and clarity ceiling.
The unit measures 17 inches wide, 3.3 inches deep and 1.7 inches high, weighing 2.9 lb, so it occupies a single rack unit in a standard equipment rack.
