Bluecctv DVA-CONVER RS-485 to RS-232 Converter

SKU CH-2SY9-6CVGE

Converts RS-232 signals to RS-422 or RS-485 with automatic hardware RTS control for collision-free multi-device communication

  • Converts legacy RS-232 signals to RS-422/485 standards
  • Hardware auto RTS control prevents data collision
  • Echo mode verifies transmission integrity by hardware
  • Extends communication distance beyond RS-232 limits
  • Plug-and-play operation requires no software configuration

Signal Conversion Scope

The Bluecctv DVA-CONVER translates RS-232 signals to RS-422 or RS-485 standards. It suits installers integrating legacy serial equipment into modern surveillance networks. The hardware handles protocol translation without requiring software changes on the host system.

Wiring And Mode Checks

Confirm whether the target devices use RS-422 four-wire or RS-485 two-wire connections before installation. Verify the host port supplies standard RS-232 voltage levels. Ensure the communication topology matches the converter’s supported operating modes for the intended network layout.

Passive Thermal Profile

The unit operates without active cooling, relying on its metal enclosure for heat dissipation. Power draw is minimal, typical for passive serial converters, producing no audible noise. Surface temperature stays low during continuous data transmission under normal environmental conditions.

Questions about this item

Which RS-422 or RS-485 wiring mode should I select for my installation?

The unit supports both RS-422 and RS-485 modes with hardware-controlled toggling; choose the mode that matches your existing bus wiring.

What does the auto RTS control do when the converter is connected to a live RS-485 network?

It automatically toggles the transmit line by hardware so only one device drives the bus at a time, preventing data collisions without extra programming.
