Bluecctv IR9824-H-G-36 analogue camera

The Bluecctv IR9824-H-G-36 is a 650 TVL analogue CCTV camera built around a 1/3" Sony Super HAD II CCD with 976 by 508 effective pixels. It suits installers who need a fixed 3.6mm lens and 24 infrared LEDs for night surveillance up to 40 feet. The grey weatherproof housing allows outdoor mounting on a 12V DC supply. Buyers who want motorised zoom, varifocal adjustment or IP networking should look elsewhere.

Thermals noise and 12V DC power draw

The camera runs on 12V DC with no active cooling, so it produces no fan noise and adds minimal heat to the mounting surface. Twenty-four IR LEDs activate automatically in 0 lux conditions, drawing additional current only when night vision is engaged. The sealed weatherproof case protects the electronics from rain and dust without requiring external heatsinks. Power consumption scales with IR illumination rather than continuous high load.

Fixed lens and IR bundle impact

The bundled 3.6mm fixed lens sets a permanent field of view, removing the need for on-site focus adjustment but preventing optical zoom changes later. Twenty-four integrated IR LEDs deliver illumination to 40 feet, eliminating the expense and wiring of separate illuminators. The grey case colour blends with typical soffit or wall surfaces for discreet installation. No software, mounting brackets or power supply are included in the package.

Questions about this item

How do I mount the IR9824-H-G-36 and connect its 12V DC power without reversing polarity?

Secure the grey weatherproof housing to a wall or ceiling using the built-in bracket, then connect the 12V DC supply observing the marked positive and negative terminals; the camera draws power only when polarity is correct.

Which parts of the IR9824-H-G-36 will need replacement after extended outdoor use?

The 24 IR LEDs may dim after several years of night operation, and the fixed 3.6mm lens can accumulate fine scratches from wind‑borne grit, so plan to swap the LED board or front glass if image quality drops.

What limits the IR9824-H-G-36 first during continuous 24‑hour recording?

The 24 IR LEDs provide illumination to 40 feet; beyond that distance the 650 TVL sensor receives too little light, so night detail degrades before any thermal or power limit is reached.
