Straight Ripping Bar 18 inch

The Bon Tool Co. 14-521 is a straight ripping bar designed for demolition and material separation tasks. Its 18-inch length provides leverage for prying boards, removing nails and splitting timber. The tool suits electricians, remodelers and general contractors who need a durable hand tool for rough-in work.

Behaviour under sustained load

Forged steel construction resists bending when high leverage is applied repeatedly during tear-out jobs. The straight profile transfers force directly to the workpiece without the flex common in curved bars. Heat-treated surfaces withstand repeated hammer strikes on the striking end without mushrooming or chipping.

Build quality and daily use

A precision-ground bevel slides under tight boards and trim without damaging adjacent surfaces. The flat striking face accepts hammer blows cleanly for driving the bar deeper into joints. No moving parts or coatings require maintenance, so the bar remains reliable across long site days.

Questions about this item

How much force can I apply to the 18-inch ripping bar before it overheats or makes noise?

The Bon 14-521 is a non-powered hand tool with no motor, so it produces no heat or noise regardless of how long it is used.

Do I need a power source or battery to operate the 14-521 straight ripping bar?

No external power is required; the bar works entirely by manual leverage.

Will the 18-inch bar fit into the same tool belt slots as my older 14-inch pry bar?

The longer 18-inch length may not fit standard pouches made for shorter bars, so check your belt dimensions first.
