Coiled USB-C cable for CarPlay and Android Auto

This Bordsek coiled cable connects USB-C devices in vehicles. It supports CarPlay for iPhone 15 through 17 models and iPad Pro or Air tablets from 2024 and 2025. Android Auto works with Galaxy S24, S25, Z Fold and Pixel 9 series phones. The retractable design keeps the centre console tidy.

480 megabits per second data rate

Data transfers run at 480 megabits per second. This speed suits phone backups, photo offloads and CarPlay or Android Auto connectivity. It does not meet the bandwidth needed for high-resolution video output or external SSD performance. Buyers who need 5 gigabits per second or 10 gigabits per second should choose a different cable.

Up to 3 amps charging with 1 to 3 foot extension

The cable delivers up to 3 amps for fast charging, reaching 60 percent on an iPhone 16 Pro in 40 minutes. It extends smoothly from 1 to 3 feet, so the coil stays compact when not stretched. No active cooling or fan noise is involved. Power draw follows the connected charger and device negotiation.

Questions about this item

What does 480 megabits per second mean for file transfers on this cable?

The cable is rated at 480 megabits per second, which is the USB 2.0 data rate. Expect typical real-world transfers around 40 megabytes per second for files and backups.

Which USB standard does the USB-C connector on this cable follow?

The connector uses USB 2.0 signalling at 480 megabits per second, so it caps data at that speed even when plugged into USB 3 or USB 4 ports.

How long does the coiled cable extend and what clearance does it need?

It extends smoothly from 1 foot to 3 feet, so allow roughly 3 feet of reach from the port to the device for comfortable use.
