ESTONE TJ-A323 USB4 Cable Overview

The ESTONE TJ-A323 is a USB4 cable with USB C Male to USB C Male connectors. It supports the latest USB4 Gen 3x2 standard for up to 40Gbps bi-directional data transfer. The cable delivers up to 100W power via PD 3.1 and handles 8K video at 60Hz. It is built with a nylon braided jacket for durability.

Suits Thunderbolt 3/4 and USB4 Hosts

This cable suits users connecting Thunderbolt 3, Thunderbolt 4 or USB4 laptops to high-resolution monitors or fast storage docks. It works with devices requiring 100W charging such as a MacBook Pro 16-inch. Buyers whose monitors lack DP Alternate Mode on their USB-C port will not get video output. Those needing lengths beyond 6.6ft should look at other options.

40Gbps USB4 Gen 3x2 Decides Fit

The single specification that decides fit is the 40Gbps USB4 Gen 3x2 data rate. If the host and peripheral both support USB4 Gen 3x2 or Thunderbolt 4, the cable delivers full throughput for data and 8K@60Hz video. If either end only supports USB 3.2 Gen 2 at 10Gbps or Thunderbolt 3 at 20Gbps, the link will negotiate down and the 40Gbps ceiling will not be reached.

Questions about this item

Does the 6.6ft ESTONE TJ-A323 cable include a charger or do I need to supply my own 100W PD 3.1 power adapter?

The cable is sold by itself; a compatible 100W PD 3.1 charger must be purchased separately to reach the full 100W power delivery.

Should I choose this USB4 Gen 3x2 cable over a Thunderbolt 3 cable for 40Gbps data and 8K@60Hz video?

This USB4 Gen 3x2 cable delivers 40Gbps bi-directional data and 8K@60Hz video, matching Thunderbolt 3 performance while adding PD 3.1 extended power range up to 100W.

When I plug the cable into a MacBook Pro 16'' and an 8K monitor, will I actually see 7680x4320@60Hz?

Yes, provided both the MacBook Pro and the monitor support USB4 Gen 3x2 with DisplayPort Alternate Mode, the cable will pass the full 7680x4320@60Hz signal.
