Full bandwidth requires USB4 Gen 3x2 controllers on both sides; Thunderbolt 3 or 4 hosts will operate at their own rated limits. The 240 W rating only applies when the charger, cable and device all implement PD 3.1 Extended Power Range, otherwise the link negotiates a lower power level.
