Bosch Starlight 8000i IP Dome Camera

The Bosch NDE-8512-RX is a starlight 8000i series IP dome camera built for outdoor surveillance. It captures 1080p video at up to 60 fps using a 1/1.8-inch CMOS sensor and a motorised 4.40-10 mm lens. H.264, H.265 and M-JPEG compression reduce bandwidth and storage needs. The housing is rated for exterior installation.

Suited for sites needing variable zoom

This camera suits installations that require adjustable framing between a 101° and 130° field of view. Day and night functionality with starlight sensitivity handles dark scenes without extra illumination. Buyers needing a fixed focal length, wider panoramic view, or multi-sensor array should look at a different form factor.

Motorised 4.40-10 mm varifocal lens

The adjustable focal range lets installers set the exact magnification after mounting, covering both wide overviews and narrower detail zones. Remote zoom and focus eliminate the need to reopen the housing for fine tuning. This single specification decides whether the camera matches the scene geometry.

Questions about this item

What size mounting opening does the 4.40-10 mm lens dome need?

The camera fits a standard dome mounting base; the 4.40-10 mm varifocal lens adjusts to cover a 101° to 130° field of view once secured.

Which step is often missed when connecting the IP dome to the recorder?

After wiring the PoE cable, enable H.264, H.265 or M-JPEG encoding on the recorder to match the camera's 1080p stream at up to 60 fps.

How often should the outdoor dome's clear cover be cleaned to keep night video sharp?

Wipe the dome cover every few months; the 1/1.8-inch CMOS sensor and starlight 8000i processing rely on an unobstructed view for low-light clarity.
