Product Identity

The Bosch NIN-73023-A3AS is a new Flexidome IP Starlight 7000 VR dome camera with a 2 megapixel sensor and a varifocal 3-9mm lens. It uses a 1/2.8 inch chip and supports H.264 and M-JPEG compression for network video streams. The unit is rated for both indoor and outdoor installation.

Suitability

This camera suits installers who need a 2 megapixel dome with strong low-light sensitivity down to 0.0011 lux and a flexible focal range. Buyers who require higher resolution than 2 megapixel or a different lens range should look at something else. The 90-day seller warranty also means it is not for projects demanding a full manufacturer warranty.

Deciding Specification

The 1/2.8 inch sensor combined with a 0.0011 lux minimum sensitivity determines whether this camera meets the site’s low-light requirements. If the scene illumination stays above that threshold the Starlight 7000 VR delivers usable colour video; if it drops lower a different sensor specification will be necessary.
