Autodome IP Starlight 7000 HD dome camera

The Bosch VG5-7230-EPC5 is a 2.1 MP network dome camera built for professional surveillance. It delivers 1080P resolution through a 1/2.8 inch Exmor CMOS sensor and a 30x optical zoom lens ranging from 4.3 mm to 129 mm. The unit suits installations that require detailed coverage across wide and narrow fields of view.

Replaces fixed-lens or lower-zoom domes

The 30x optical zoom and a horizontal field of view spanning 2.3 to 65 degrees let one camera cover areas that previously needed multiple fixed lenses. Minimum illumination of 0.0077 lux in colour and 0.0008 lux in monochrome makes the jump worthwhile for low-light zones where standard cameras lose detail. Auto iris control from F/1.6 to F/4.7 maintains exposure across the zoom range.

Sustained operation in extreme environments

Rated for continuous use from -29.2 °F to 165.2 °F with 0 to 100 percent relative humidity, the camera maintains performance during prolonged temperature swings. Power input of AC 21 to 30 V or High PoE at 60 Watt supports stable long-term operation without thermal throttling. Web, SNMP and Telnet protocols enable persistent remote management and monitoring.

Questions about this item

What size opening does the 8.8 in diameter dome need for ceiling mounting?

The camera housing measures 8.8 in wide by 8.8 in deep by 11.8 in high, so the ceiling cut-out must accommodate at least the 8.8 in diameter base.

How is the 60 W High PoE connection made without a separate AC 21-30 V supply?

Connect a single Ethernet cable to a 60 W High PoE injector or switch port; the camera draws full power through the data cable so no 208-230 V AC wiring is required.

When should the auto-iris lens assembly be inspected after installation?

Bosch recommends checking the F/1.6-4.7 auto iris and 30 x optical zoom mechanism annually, especially after exposure to the full -29.2 °F to 165.2 °F operating range.
