Ultra Subwoofer for home audio

The Bose Lifestyle Ultra Subwoofer 893955-1100 is a powered subwoofer designed to add deep, physical bass to a home entertainment system. It connects wirelessly to compatible Bose speakers or soundbars so the low-frequency effects in movies and music are felt as well as heard. The unit measures 12.87 inches by 11.60 inches by 11.60 inches and weighs 33.73 lbs.

Step up from basic soundbar bass

This subwoofer replaces the limited low-end output built into a standalone soundbar or compact speaker pair. The jump is worth it when you want room-filling impact for action films, electronic music or gaming without running long cables across the floor. CleanBass Port technology reduces port resonance so the bass stays articulate even at higher playback levels.

Sustained output with CleanBass Port

Under continuous demanding passages the enclosure and port geometry work together to control air turbulence and cabinet vibration. CustomTune technology measures the room acoustics and adjusts the response so output remains consistent from the listening position. The result is steady, distortion-free low-frequency performance during extended movie sessions or parties.

Questions about this item

How much floor space does the 12.87 x 11.60 x 11.60 inch cabinet need?

The subwoofer measures 12.87 inches wide by 11.60 inches deep and high, so allow at least that footprint plus a few inches of clearance around the CleanBass port for unobstructed airflow.

What is the correct way to run the CustomTune room calibration so the subwoofer adapts to my space?

Open the Bose app, select the subwoofer, and follow the guided CustomTune process; the common mistake is skipping the microphone listening position step, which prevents the system from tailoring bass response to your seat.

When should I expect to replace the line chord or check the PC-ABS and glass enclosure for wear?

The line chord is a standard detachable IEC cable; replace it only if the insulation is damaged or the plug becomes loose. The PC-ABS and glass cabinet needs no scheduled maintenance beyond occasional dusting.
