Compact soundbar for clearer TV dialogue
The Bose TV Speaker 838309-1100 is a compact soundbar built to make television speech easier to understand. Its two angled full-range drivers create a wider, more natural soundstage than built-in TV speakers. Bluetooth pairing lets you stream music or podcasts from a phone or tablet. Setup requires only one cable connection to the television.
Two angled drivers handle stereo TV audio
The dual full-range drivers manage dialogue, effects and music from TV programmes and paired devices. Bass extension is limited by the slim cabinet, so deep low-frequency effects in action films will not be reproduced with authority. The speaker lacks a separate subwoofer output, preventing the addition of external bass reinforcement. HDMI ARC and optical inputs accept standard TV audio signals.
Included optical cable
An optical cable in the box provides a direct digital link to the television without purchasing a separate lead. The remote control arrives with its battery already installed, so volume and dialogue-mode adjustments work straight away. A USB port is present for service only and does not support media playback or firmware updates. Wall-mount brackets are not included.

Will the 2.21" height Bose TV Speaker block the IR sensor on my older television?
At 2.21 inches tall the soundbar sits low; most TV IR sensors sit higher, but check your set's sensor height before placing the speaker directly in front.
How can I confirm the 838309-1100 is receiving audio through the ARC connection after setup?
Play TV content and listen for clear dialogue from the two angled full-range drivers; the remote's dialogue-mode button should further sharpen vocals when engaged.
Does the box include an HDMI cable for the ARC port or must I buy one separately?
The package supplies the soundbar, a remote with battery, an optical cable, a power cord and a quick-start guide; an HDMI cable is not included.
