Double Din Touch Receiver

The BOSS Audio N7 is a 7 inch double din head unit designed for drivers who want a touch screen interface and wireless phone integration in a standard dashboard opening. It supports Bluetooth hands free calling and audio streaming, plus USB and auxiliary inputs for wired sources. The unit delivers 60 watts of power output for driving factory or aftermarket speakers.

Build and Connections

The chassis measures 14.33 inches wide by 12.83 inches high by 9.06 inches deep with a 2.56 by 7.01 by 3.94 inch monitor footprint, fitting a typical double din cavity. A wired remote control is included for passenger side operation. The wiring harness uses colour coded leads for power, speaker, camera and steering wheel control connections, and the manual provides a diagram for each function. TF card playback is supported up to 32 GB.

Upgrade Path

This receiver replaces a single din or non touch factory radio, adding a 7 inch display, mirror link navigation via a connected phone and rear camera input for parking assistance. The jump is worthwhile when the vehicle lacks Bluetooth, a touchscreen or a backup camera and the installer is comfortable routing the multi colour harness. Buyers who need built in GPS, HD radio or smartphone projection standards such as Apple CarPlay or Android Auto should look elsewhere.
