Moisture Protection for Shipments

Box Partners Clay Desiccants come in a 5 gallon pail containing 300 individual bags. Each bag measures 3 x 4 x 1/4 inches and uses activated clay filling. The product meets FDA specifications for direct contact with food and drugs. It is designed to protect items vulnerable to moisture damage during storage and transport.

Suited for High Humidity Storage

These desiccants work effectively from 20 to 80 percent relative humidity under normal packaging conditions. Each bag protects 0.83 cubic feet of volume. Buyers needing protection outside this humidity range or requiring a different adsorption capacity should look at alternative moisture control solutions.

Verify Volume and Compatibility

Confirm the total cubic footage of your shipping containers or storage areas to determine how many bags are required. Ensure the 3 x 4 inch bag dimensions fit within your packaging constraints. Check that clay desiccant material is compatible with the specific goods you are protecting.

Questions about this item

Do I need a 5-gallon pail to store these DES104 desiccants?

The 300 clay bags ship inside a 5-gallon pail, so the container is included with the case.

Can I use these alongside older silica-gel packets I already have?

Yes, the activated clay works at 20-80% relative humidity and can supplement existing desiccants without conflict.

How do I know each bag is still protecting my shipment?

Each bag protects 0.83 cubic feet; if the enclosed volume stays within that limit the desiccant is functioning as intended.
