Audio extension cable for DIN devices

This three-metre adapter joins two full-size 4-pin DIN male plugs so a DVR recorder or compatible audio equipment can reach a power supply or microphone input across a room. The straight-through wiring preserves the mono channel signal without active electronics. It suits installers who need a simple link between DIN sockets.

Build integration and space saving

The cable replaces a short factory lead, letting the recorder sit farther from the mains adaptor or mixing desk while keeping the same connector type. No gender changer or soldering is required, so the installation stays reversible and the original plugs remain untouched. Its slim PVC sheath routes behind skirting or through trunking without adding bulk.

Thermals noise and power draw

Passive copper conductors carry only the low-voltage signal and 12 V supply current, so the cable generates no heat and adds no audible noise to the audio path. The PVC jacket resists deformation and moisture, maintaining consistent performance in typical indoor security or KTV installations. Power handling is limited to the connected supply’s rating.

Questions about this item

How far can the signal travel on this 4-pin DIN extension cable without degradation?

The cable is 3 metres or 9.8 feet long, which is the maximum distance it spans between two DIN devices.

Does the cable generate heat or noise when used continuously for a DVR power connection?

The PVC sheath is high-temperature resistant and waterproof, so the cable itself produces no audible noise and stays cool during continuous use.

What connector size must my DVR or audio device already have for this cable to fit?

Both ends are full-size 4-pin DIN male plugs, so each device needs a matching 4-pin DIN female socket.
