  • Product typeAdapters
  • 24k gold-plated connectors resist corrosion for clear signal transfer
  • dual screw-lock design secures speaker wire without soldering
  • fits 12 to 18 AWG speaker wire for broad compatibility
  • colour-coded red and black plugs simplify polarity identification
  • stackable construction supports bi-wiring and bi-amping configurations

6-pair banana plug set

The Boxwave WG-009 kit supplies twelve gold-plated banana plugs in six colour-coded pairs. They accept bare speaker wire from 12 AWG to 18 AWG and connect to standard 4 mm binding posts on amplifiers, receivers, wall plates and speaker cabinets. The dual screw-lock design clamps each conductor without soldering, making the plugs suitable for home-theatre installs, pro-audio racks and DIY speaker projects.

Sustained signal integrity

Gold plating resists oxidation so contact resistance stays low over long listening sessions and humid environments. The dual screws distribute clamping force evenly, preventing the gradual loosening that can occur with single-set-screw plugs when cables are moved or vibrated. Because no solder joint is involved, there is no cold-solder risk that degrades after repeated thermal cycles.

Pre-installation checks

Verify that your speaker terminals accept 4 mm banana plugs; some mini-systems use proprietary spring clips that will not mate. Confirm the wire gauge falls between 12 AWG and 18 AWG — thicker or thinner conductors will not seat securely in the screw chambers. Ensure you have a small screwdriver and wire strippers for the tool-free but screw-dependent termination process.

Questions about this item

Do these 24k gold banana plugs generate any heat or noise during continuous all-day use?

Passive gold-plated connectors produce no heat or noise because they carry only the audio signal with no active electronics.

What speaker wire gauge must I already own for the dual screw lock terminals to accept it?

The plugs accept stranded wire from 12 AWG to 18 AWG, so you need cable within that range.

Will the stackable design work with the binding posts on my older amplifier?

Yes, the standard 4 mm banana interface fits traditional binding posts on legacy receivers and amplifiers.
