Compact 1U Router for Edge Routing

The Brocade NetIron 2048F is a 1U rack-mountable router built for high-performance Ethernet edge routing and MPLS applications. It suits network operators who need a fixed-form platform that can store a complete Internet routing table. The unit includes a 500-Watt DC power supply.

Upgrade from Modular Chassis Systems

This fixed-configuration model replaces larger modular chassis when space and power are constrained. The jump is worth it when a deployment requires full Internet table capacity and advanced MPLS features such as Traffic Engineering and VPLS in a single rack unit. It supports Metro Ethernet, data centre and campus network applications.

Verify DC Power and SFP Compatibility

Confirm that the rack environment provides DC power infrastructure for the included 500-Watt supply. Check that the 48 SFP expansion slots match the required transceiver types for the planned links. Ensure the 1.7-inch height, 17.4-inch width and 17.6-inch depth fit the allocated rack space.
