Front-panel USB 3.0 upgrade
This adapter converts a single 19-pin motherboard header into two front-panel USB 3.0 ports. It fits the original USB 2.0 cut-outs so no case modification is required. The 30 cm cable reaches most front-panel layouts in standard ATX or micro-ATX builds.
Bandwidth and OS limits
The link tops out at 5 Gbps, the ceiling of the USB 3.0 specification. Driver support stops at Windows 8 and macOS 10.8, so Windows 10, Windows 11 or newer macOS releases may not recognise the ports. Buyers needing modern OS support or faster 10 Gbps speeds cannot use this cable.
Shielding and connector notes
Inner foil, braided copper mesh and aluminium shielding suppress electromagnetic and radio interference for steadier transfers. The 20-pin plug mates with the board's 19-pin header; the extra pin is a keying guide, not a second channel. Builders without a spare 19-pin header or who need rear-I/O expansion should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item
Should I pick the 30 cm cable or a different length for my front-panel install?
Only the 30 cm length is supplied, so choose it when the front-panel cut-out sits close to the motherboard header; longer runs would need a separate extension.
What does the 5 Gbps rating deliver once the adapter is plugged in?
It enables SuperSpeed USB 3.0 transfers up to 5 Gbps between the motherboard header and the two front-panel ports, limited by the connected device and system overhead.
How does the 19-pin header link to the 20-pin cable and what speed does that cap?
The 20-pin cable plugs into the board's 19-pin USB 3.0 header; the extra pin is unused, and the link is capped at the 5 Gbps SuperSpeed rate.
