This adapter converts a motherboard USB 3.0 19-pin header into a USB 3.1 20-pin A-Key connector. It enables front-panel USB Type-C connectivity on boards that only provide the older internal header. The vertical form factor measures 23 by 11 by 19.5 mm and includes self-adhesive tape for mounting. No driver installation is required on supported operating systems.

Suitable for system builders who have a motherboard with a USB 3.0 19-pin internal header and a front-panel device that uses the USB 3.1 20-pin A-Key connector. Not suitable for motherboards that only provide a USB 2.0 header, as the adapter will not function with that interface. Also not intended for converting USB 3.1 headers back to USB 3.0 headers.

Connector A is a USB 3.0 19/20-pin male header

Connector B is a USB 3.1 A-Key 20-pin female header. Data transfer speed is up to 10 Gbps. Compatible with Windows XP, 7, 8, 10 (32-bit and 64-bit), macOS and Linux. The adapter uses a black PCB and draws power from the motherboard header. Installation must be performed with the power cable removed to avoid shorting pins.
