VGA over Ethernet Extender Pair

This pair of adapters converts a VGA video signal to run over standard CAT5 or CAT6 network cable. One unit has a 15-pin male VGA connector and the other a 15-pin female VGA connector, both linking to an RJ45 female port. The set transmits analogue video up to 20 metres without external power.

Installers Running Video Through Structured Cabling

Suited for installers who want to use existing Ethernet infrastructure to reach a projector or monitor beyond normal VGA cable limits. Not for users who need digital video formats such as HDMI or DisplayPort, or who require transmission distances beyond 20 metres.

Passive 20-Metre Analogue Extension

The critical specification is the 20-metre maximum transmission distance over CAT5 or CAT6 cable using purely passive adapters. Signal quality depends on cable grade and length, so runs near the limit may show ghosting or reduced clarity.

Questions about this item

What adapters come in the 2-pack and do I need to buy anything else?

The pack includes one VGA male-to-RJ45 female adapter and one VGA female-to-RJ45 female adapter; you must supply your own CAT5 or CAT6 Ethernet cable for the link.

Which version should I pick for a 20 metre run between PC and projector?

The adapters are rated for up to 20 metres over CAT5 or CAT6; choose this pair when your cable run falls within that range.

Will the 15-pin VGA signal stay sharp at the full 20 metre distance?

The supplier notes that beyond 20 metres the picture may lose clarity or show ghosting, so keep the Ethernet cable at or under that length for best results.
