Burndy W161 Crimping Die 6 AWG

The Burndy W161 is a Type W crimping die built for 6 AWG aluminum and copper lugs. It fits W-style series crimping tools and delivers a maximum crimping force of 6 ton. Tool-grade construction provides durability for repeated professional use.

For electricians and contractors needing W-style 6

This die suits professionals terminating 6 AWG lugs with compatible W-series equipment. It does not fit other die series or wire gauges. Buyers needing different capacities or proprietary tool systems should look at other options.

W-style series compatibility decides fit

The die only works with crimpers accepting W-style dies. Verify your tool accepts this series before purchase. Without a matching W-series crimper the die cannot be used.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box with the Burndy W161 die and do I need a separate crimp tool?

The package contains the W161 Type W crimping die only; a compatible W-series crimp tool must be supplied separately to operate it.

How do I choose between the listed versions or capacities for the W161 die?

The W161 is offered in a single 6 AWG capacity for both aluminum and copper lugs, so there are no alternative versions to select.

What does the 6-ton maximum crimping force mean when the die is used in a real job?

It indicates the peak force the die can withstand in a W-series tool, allowing reliable crimps on 6 AWG aluminum and copper lugs within that force limit.
