7 × 20 ft Mesh Tarp for Outdoor Coverage

This black mesh tarp measures 7 by 20 feet and uses 10 mil PVC-coated polyester fabric. Double-stitched seams and web reinforcement add durability for standard-duty tasks. Brass grommets spaced 24 inches apart provide secure tie-down points. The material is UV resistant and breathable.

Thermals Noise and Power Draw in Normal Use

The tarp has no electrical components, so it generates no heat, noise or power draw. Its open mesh construction allows air to pass through, reducing wind load on the structure. UV resistance helps the fabric withstand prolonged sun exposure without degrading. Performance remains consistent across seasonal temperature changes.

Build Quality and Everyday Mounting

Fabric weight is 12 ounces per square yard with a 10 mil thickness for tear resistance. Brass grommets with a 3 inch inside diameter accept rope, bungee cords or hooks. Double-stitched edges and web reinforcement prevent fraying at stress points. The tarp is water resistant rather than waterproof, so moisture passes through the mesh.

Questions about this item

How do I secure the 7 x 20 ft tarp using the brass grommets spaced every 24 inches?

Thread rope or bungee cords through each 3-inch brass grommet along the perimeter; the double-stitched, web-reinforced hem distributes load so the 10 mil PVC-coated polyester does not tear at the attachment points.

What part of the tarp will need replacement first after extended outdoor exposure?

The brass grommets and the double-stitched hem are the wear points; UV-resistant coating slows fabric breakdown, but metal eyelets and stitching degrade before the 12 oz/sq yd polyester mesh itself.

At what point does the standard-duty 10 mil mesh tarp stop shedding water during prolonged rain?

The product carries no water-resistant or waterproof rating, so water passes through the breathable mesh immediately; it is designed for shade and debris containment, not for keeping surfaces dry.
