Solid 11.5 mm silicone cord prevents 12 mm ID acrylic or PETG tube from collapsing during heated bending
The Bykski bending cord is a solid silicone insert designed for 12mm inner-diameter acrylic or PETG tubing. It prevents the tube wall from collapsing or forming cavities when the tubing is heated and shaped. The cord is sold as a single three-foot piece and requires stretching and lubrication before insertion.
Because the insert is solid rather than hollow, it maintains internal support throughout tight or compound curves where a hollow cord might buckle. The tight fit eliminates air pockets and flat spots that would otherwise appear on the outer surface of the bend. Removal takes more effort than with a hollow insert and the material cannot be stretched as far.
Builders who previously used improvised rods or hollow silicone tubing gain repeatable results on intricate routing. The upgrade is worthwhile when the loop demands multiple tight-radius bends in 12mm ID tubing and the installer is prepared for the extra effort of stretching and extracting the solid cord. It is not suited for tubing with a different inner diameter or for soft tubing that does not require heat forming.

The solid silicone cord itself produces no heat or noise; any warmth comes only from the external heat source you apply to the 12 mm tube during bending.
You need rigid acrylic or PETG tubing with a 12 mm inner diameter and 16 mm outer diameter; the cord is sized for that specific wall thickness.
Yes, as long as the tube still measures 12 mm ID and 16 mm OD the cord fits; you may need extra lubrication and patience to insert it into stiffer material.
