4K HDMI 2.0 to 12G-SDI Converter

The BZBGEAR BG-4KHS converts an HDMI 2.0 source to 12G, 6G, 3G, HD or SD-SDI for professional video workflows. It supports 4K UHD at up to 60 Hz and 1080p at up to 60 Hz with an HDMI loop-out for local monitoring. Audio embedding via a 3.5 mm stereo input adds analogue sound to the SDI stream. The unit suits installers and broadcasters needing long-range digital transmission.

Signal Distance Limits by SDI Standard

Cable reach depends on the SDI rate selected: 12G-SDI runs up to 60 m, 6G-SDI up to 75 m, 3G-SDI up to 90 m, HD-SDI up to 150 m and SD-SDI up to 300 m. The converter handles 2160p at 23.98, 24, 25, 29.97, 30, 50, 59.94 and 60 Hz plus 1080p and 720p variants. No signal degradation occurs during the purely digital conversion process.

Check Source Resolution and Power Before Buying

Verify your HDMI source outputs a supported format; the lowest accepted resolution is 720p at 50 Hz. Ensure a 5 V supply is available — the included adapter covers this. The metal enclosure measures 8 by 6 by 3 inches and includes a wall-mount rack set. Buyers needing more than two SDI outputs or fibre transport should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 12G-SDI or 6G-SDI path for a 4K@60Hz source?

Use the 12G-SDI output for 4K@60Hz; it supports 2160p at 60 Hz while 6G-SDI is limited to lower frame rates at that resolution.

What does 4K@60Hz actually give me on a 12G-SDI link?

It delivers 2160p at 60 Hz with up to 7.1-channel audio embedded, transmitted digitally without quality loss over a single 12G-SDI cable up to 60 m.

How far can I run 12G-SDI from the dual outputs?

Each 12G-SDI output reaches 60 m (200 ft); 6G-SDI reaches 75 m, 3G-SDI 90 m, HD-SDI 150 m, and SD-SDI 300 m.
