Four-channel HDMI live switcher

The BZBGEAR BG-HDVS42U is a compact four-channel HDMI video switcher and audio mixer built for live production. It accepts four HDMI sources up to 1080p 60 and provides a program output, a multiview output and a USB-C 2.0 stream feed for direct connection to a PC. Two 3.5 mm analogue audio inputs join the embedded HDMI audio in a built-in mixer with per-channel delay.

Check sources and capture needs

Verify that every camera or source you plan to connect can output one of the listed resolutions and frame rates such as 1080p 60, 59.94 or 50. The USB-C port delivers a UVC stream to recording or streaming software on a computer but does not supply power to the switcher itself. Ensure your streaming PC has an available USB 2.0 type-C port or a suitable adapter.

Suits small multi-camera streams

This unit fits operators running up to four 1080p cameras who need hardware switching, graphic overlays and integrated audio mixing without a separate capture card. It is not intended for workflows that require 4K inputs, SDI connectivity, more than four video sources or internal recording to local storage.

Questions about this item

Does the BG-HDVS42U include cables or only the switcher itself?

The box contains the 4-channel HDMI video switcher, a power adapter and a USB-C cable for the streaming output. HDMI cables for the four inputs and two programme outputs are not supplied and must be purchased separately.

The switcher has one HDMI programme output and one USB-C streaming output — which should I use for live streaming to a PC?

Connect the USB-C port to the computer; it delivers a 1080p 60 capture stream compatible with OBS, Zoom, Teams and similar software. The HDMI programme output is intended for a local monitor, recorder or projector.

What does the 1080p 60 rating mean when the unit is connected to a real camera and display?

Each of the four HDMI inputs accepts 1080p at 60, 59.94, 50, 30, 29.97, 25, 24 or 23.98 Hz, and the programme and multiview outputs match the selected input format without scaling.
