PDU jumper for high-temp gear

This IEC 60320 C14-to-C15 cord connects a rack PDU or C13/C14 outlet to network switches and other equipment that uses a high-temperature C16 inlet. The notched C15 connector is built for the heat those devices generate. It is a direct replacement for standard C13 cords that cannot handle the higher inlet temperature. Buyers who need a straight C13-to-C14 cord for ordinary servers should choose a different cable.

Heavy-duty 14 AWG under continuous load

The 14 AWG SJT-jacketed copper conductors are rated for 15 A at 250 V and a cable temperature of 105 °C with a 300 V insulation rating. This gauge maintains its rating during sustained server and PDU operation rather than only in short bursts. The UL Listed and CSA certified construction (file E210037) confirms the materials meet the safety standard for continuous duty. Installations that require 20 A capacity need a 12 AWG cord instead.

Green jacket for circuit identification

The green SJT jacket lets technicians colour-code individual circuits inside a rack at a glance. Length falls between 21 in and 25 in, keeping the jumper short enough to avoid slack while reaching adjacent PDU outlets. RoHS-compliant materials satisfy restricted-substance requirements. Racks that use a different colour scheme for power paths will need a cord in another colour.

Questions about this item

Does the 14 AWG cable run hot when powering a 15A server load all day?

The SJT jacket is rated to 105C and the cord carries 15A at 250V, so it stays within its thermal limits under continuous full-load use.

What inlet must my equipment already have for the C15 end to fit?

The notched C15 connector mates only with a high-temperature C16 inlet, which is standard on many network switches and hot-running rack gear.

Will the C14 plug work with the older C13 outlets on my existing PDU?

Yes, the C14 plug inserts into any standard C13 or C14 outlet, so it connects directly to legacy rack PDUs without adapters.
