Multi-Display Adapter for Windows Workstations

The Cable Matters 201399 connects up to four external monitors through a single USB-C port using Multi-Stream Transport. It offers configurable port layouts including three HDMI plus one DisplayPort, two of each, or one HDMI plus three DisplayPort outputs. Designed for Windows laptops with 11th Gen Intel CPUs or newer, it enables true extended desktop mode across all connected screens. macOS users will see only mirrored output due to platform limitations.

Sustained 140W Power Delivery While Driving Four

The adapter delivers up to 140W of pass-through charging to the host laptop while simultaneously powering quad 4K@60Hz outputs. Thermal performance remains stable during extended sessions with all ports active, avoiding the throttling common in lower-rated hubs. DisplayPort 2.1 and HDMI 2.1 interfaces maintain full bandwidth allocation across all streams without compression artifacts or frame drops under continuous load.

Replaces Single-Port Dongles and Dual-Monitor Docks

This unit consolidates what previously required multiple adapters or a bulky dock with external power. The upgrade is worthwhile when moving from a dual-monitor setup to three or four screens, or when a single cable must handle video, data and 140W charging. It does not suit users limited to 10th Gen Intel or earlier CPUs, which cap at three external displays, nor Mac users needing extended desktops.

Questions about this item

How much heat or noise does the 201399 adapter produce when driving four 4K monitors all day?

The adapter is a compact plastic hub with no moving parts, so it runs silently and generates only modest warmth during continuous multi-monitor use.

What must my laptop already provide for the 201399 to deliver quad 4K output and 140 W charging?

Your laptop needs a USB-C port that supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode with MST and Power Delivery input of at least 140 W.

Will the 201399 work with an older 10th-generation Intel laptop that only supports three external displays?

Yes, the hub will function, but the laptop’s graphics limit caps the extended desktop to three monitors instead of four.
