USB-C audio adapter for headsets and microphones

The CableCreation CD0483 connects 3.5 mm TRS headphones or TRRS headsets to USB-C and Thunderbolt 3 devices. It adds a stereo output and mono microphone input through separate black and pink jacks. The 8.5 in cable suits desktop and mobile setups alike.

Plug-and-play DAC with aluminium housing

A qualified DAC chip delivers lossless audio without driver installation. The aluminium shell resists wear from repeated insertion. Microphone input works with standard TRRS plugs or a dedicated TRS mic in the pink port.

Replaces a missing or damaged 3.5 mm jack

Ideal for ultra-thin laptops, tablets and phones that lack an analogue audio port. Not compatible with Apple AirPods microphone, Pixel phones or GoPro cameras. Buyers needing multi-channel surround or digital optical output should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Does the adapter get warm or draw noticeable power when used continuously for calls?

The adapter uses a qualified DAC chip and aluminium housing to run cool; it draws minimal bus power and adds no audible fan noise.

What type of 3.5 mm headset must I already own to use both audio and microphone functions?

A TRRS (four-pole) headset plugs into the black jack for combined audio and mic; separate TRS headphones and mic use the black and pink jacks respectively.

Will this adapter work with my older Pixel phone or GoPro camera that still have USB-C ports?

Testing confirms the adapter does not function with Pixel phones or GoPro models, even though they have USB-C connectors.
