Cat8 10 ft shielded patch cable

This Category 8 patch cable uses four shielded twisted pairs of 26AWG oxygen-free copper with 24K gold-plated RJ45 connectors. Triple-layer S/FTP shielding wraps each pair and the full bundle to cut EMI, RFI and alien crosstalk. The 10 ft black run is rated for 2000 MHz bandwidth and supports 25GBASE-T and 40GBASE-T links.

Upgrade from Cat6 or Cat5e when 25G or 40G is needed

Replacing older Category 6 or 5e cables with this Cat8 link removes the bandwidth ceiling that limits 25GBASE-T and 40GBASE-T switches and NICs. The jump is worth it when the network core already runs 25G or 40G ports and the existing copper cannot sustain the required 2000 MHz frequency. Backward compatibility keeps slower gear working while the fast path is added.

Verify connector clearance

The RJ45 plugs are standard width but the shielded boots add depth; check that patch-panel ports, wall plates or device jacks accept the larger moulding. Confirm the connected switch or NIC ports are configured for 25GBASE-T or 40GBASE-T so the cable’s 2000 MHz rating is actually used. Ensure the 10 ft length reaches between rack units or desk and wall without tension.
