12 ft Cat6 patch cable

The Cables To Go 03986 is a twelve-foot Cat6 unshielded twisted-pair patch cable with RJ-45 male connectors on both ends. Its snagless boot protects the locking tab during installation and removal. The black jacket suits rack, desk or wall-plate runs in home and small-business networks.

Ideal for short copper links, not for long runs

This cable fits connections between a router, switch, modem or patch panel and a PC, printer, access point or IP camera within the same room. Installers who need shielded cable for high-EMI environments, outdoor-rated jacket, or lengths beyond the twelve feet supplied should select a different product.

Cat6 rating and twelve-foot length

The Category 6 rating supports gigabit Ethernet and higher data rates over short copper channels. At twelve feet (3.65 metres) it covers typical desk-to-wall or rack-to-rack distances without excess slack.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 12 ft length or a different size for my setup?

The 12 ft (3.65 m) length suits typical desktop-to-switch runs; pick a shorter cable for tidy rack patches or a longer one only if the distance demands it.

What real-world speed will this Cat6 cable deliver on my gigabit router?

It supports full gigabit Ethernet throughput; the Cat 6 rating ensures headroom for 1 Gbps links, so your router port speed is the limiting factor.

Does the RJ-45 connector work with standard switch ports and PoE devices?

Yes, both ends are standard RJ-45 male plugs compatible with any 8P8C port on switches, routers, patch panels or PoE equipment.
