Extends USB 1.1 devices up to 150 feet over Cat5, Cat5e or Cat6 cable with no drivers or external power required
This USB 1.1 extender kit uses Cat5, Cat5e or Cat6 cable to carry signals up to 150 feet between a host computer and a peripheral. It consists of a base unit and a remote unit that connect without any driver installation. The system is fully bus-powered, drawing power from the USB port so no external adapter is required.
Ideal for placing USB 1.1 cameras, printers, webcams, keyboards or mice beyond the standard cable limit in home or office settings. Not suitable for USB 2.0 or higher bandwidth devices, nor for installations where Ethernet cabling cannot be run between the two locations.
The single specification that decides fit is the USB 1.1 compliance combined with Cat5, Cat5e or Cat6 transport up to 150 feet. If the peripheral requires USB 2.0 speed or the run exceeds 150 feet, this extender will not meet the requirement.

The extender carries USB 1.1 data up to 150 feet over a standard Cat5, Cat5e or Cat6 cable.
Each unit has a USB connector; a single Cat5, Cat5e or Cat6 patch cable (not included) links the base and remote units.
It is bus-powered with internal DC conditioning, so no external supply is needed; the step often missed is using a solid-core Cat5/5e/6 cable rather than stranded patch cord for runs near 150 feet.
