Single-Gang Grommet Wall Plate

This brushed-aluminium wall plate mounts in a standard single-gang box and provides a 1.5in rubber-grommeted opening for clean cable pass-through. It suits installers finishing AV, data or power runs in commercial or residential settings. The 3mm aircraft-grade aluminium construction resists wear in high-traffic areas. Condition is new.

1.5in Opening Capacity

The 1.5in diameter accommodates bundles of HDMI, Cat6, speaker wire or small conduit while the rubber grommet protects jackets from chafing. It handles typical multi-cable drops behind displays or conference tables. Very thick armoured cable or large-diameter fibre bundles will not fit through the aperture.

Replaces Basic Plastic Bushings

This plate upgrades from simple plastic grommets or open knock-outs that crack or leave sharp edges. The metal build and finished appearance justify the step up when the installation is visible to clients or subject to repeated cable changes. It is not suited for installers needing multiple segregated ports or keyed connectors.

Questions about this item

Will the 1.5in grommet opening on the 40489 plate fit around the HDMI and power cables I already have installed?

The 1.5in diameter opening with its protective rubber grommet is designed to accommodate typical AV and power cables, allowing them to pass through cleanly without damaging the jacket.

How can I confirm the 40489 wall plate is seated correctly after mounting it in a standard single gang box?

The brushed aluminum plate should sit flush against the wall with the rubber grommet centred in the opening and cables moving freely through it without binding or pinching.

What hardware comes with the 40489 brushed aluminum wall plate and what must I supply?

The package includes the single gang wall plate with the integrated 1.5in rubber grommet; mounting screws for the electrical box or mud ring are not included and must be purchased separately.
