2 ft Cat6a patch cable

This two-foot Cat6a patch cable connects network adapters, switches, routers and patch panels using RJ-45 male connectors at each end. The red jacket helps colour-code installations and the snagless hood protects the latch during frequent changes. It is built for 10 Gigabit data transmission over four-pair copper up to 100 metres.

Thermals noise and power

As a passive copper cable it generates no heat, draws no power and produces no audible noise in normal operation. The unshielded construction relies on improved alien cross-talk performance to maintain signal integrity without active cooling or external power.

Upgrade path and limits

The cable replaces older Cat6 or Cat5e patch leads when 10GBase-T ports require the full 100-metre channel distance that earlier categories cannot guarantee. It is not suited for runs beyond 100 metres or for environments that demand shielded cabling for electromagnetic immunity.
