9 ft Cat6a Patch Cable for 10GBase-T

This 9 ft orange Cat6a patch cable connects network adapters, switches, routers and patch panels with RJ-45 male connectors on both ends. It is built to the ANSI/TIA 568 C.2 Cat6a channel specification and tested for 10 Gigabit data transmission over four copper pairs. The snagless hood protects the latch in dense switch ports and the cable carries an individual length label for easy identification.

Practical Limits of Cat6a UTP

The unshielded construction supports 10 Gigabit speeds up to 100 metres, but alien cross-talk performance depends on installation quality and cable bundling. Current Cat6 systems may only sustain 10 Gigabit Ethernet over shorter runs, so this Cat6a cable removes that distance restriction. No shielding means it is lighter and easier to route, yet it offers less immunity to external electromagnetic interference than shielded alternatives.

Upgrade from Cat5e or Cat6 Links

This cable replaces Cat5e or Cat6 patch cords that cannot reliably carry 10GBase-T at full channel length. The jump is worth it when you are deploying 10 Gigabit ports and need the guaranteed 100 metre reach defined by the Cat6a standard. It is not for installers who require shielded cable for high-EMI environments or who need lengths beyond the 100 metre channel limit.
