Purpose-built 5 GHz backhaul radio

The Cambium Networks PTP 550 is a connectorized point-to-point access point operating on 802.11ac Wave 2 in the 5.150 to 5.950 GHz band. Its IP66/IP67 metal enclosure protects the radio from extreme conditions and solar radiation for outdoor deployment.

Suited for licensed gigabit links.

Network operators needing up to 1.36 Gbps throughput on licensed or unlicensed 5 GHz spectrum will fit this unit into mid-range and long-range backhaul paths. Buyers who want omnidirectional Wi-Fi coverage or client access for laptops and phones should look at something else.

Connectorized antenna interface decides the link

The radio ships without integrated antennas, so the installer must supply and align external antennas using the GUI e-alignment tool. That choice of antenna gain and pattern is the single specification that determines whether the link meets its distance and capacity targets.
