Hospitality access point supports 802.11ax at 1.45 Gbit/s with dual-band, MIMO, WPA2/WPA3 encryption, Gigabit Ethernet PoE, USB, and wall-mountable design
The HPE AP-503H is a wireless access point built for hospitality environments such as hotels and dormitories. It supports the 802.11ax standard across 2.40 GHz and 5 GHz bands with a wireless transmission speed of 1.45 Gbit/s. Two internal antennas and MIMO technology provide coverage for guest rooms and common areas. The wall-mountable desktop form factor allows discreet installation.
This unit fits properties that want a single Gigabit Ethernet cable to deliver both data and power through the PoE port. The USB port adds flexibility for future sensor or beacon deployments. WPA2, WPA3 and WPA encryption standards meet typical guest-network security requirements. Buyers who need outdoor-rated enclosures or multi-gigabit uplink ports should look at other product lines.
The 1.45 Gbit/s maximum data rate determines whether the access point can handle the concurrent streaming and browsing loads expected in a typical guest room. Power consumption is rated at 50 W, so the PoE budget of the switch must accommodate this draw. Physical dimensions are 1.9 inches high, 5.9 inches wide and 3.4 inches deep, weighing 0.80 oz.

The AP-503H is the 500H series hospitality access point with 802.11ax dual-band 2.40 GHz and 5 GHz radios, two internal antennas, Gigabit Ethernet PoE and USB.
The 1.45 Gbit/s is the peak PHY rate across both bands; real-world throughput will be lower due to overhead, client capability, interference and the single Gigabit Ethernet uplink.
The RJ-45 PoE port negotiates at 1 Gbit/s, so wired backhaul caps aggregate wireless throughput at roughly that rate even though the radios can signal at 1.45 Gbit/s.
