Compatible two-way radio battery

This 1200mAh 7.2V replacement cell fits the TK-250, TK-250G, TK-255, TK-259, TK-350, TK-350G, TK-350N, TK-353, TK-353N, TK-355, TK-359, TK-430 and TK-431 series. It also matches original part numbers KNB-9A, KNB-11, KNB-11A, KNB-11N, KNB-12, KNB-12A, KNB-18A and KNB-19A. The pack measures 60.20 x 57.84 x 30.92 mm and weighs 226.0 g. A built-in protection circuit guards against overcharge, over-discharge, over-voltage and short circuits.

Sustained discharge performance

The 8.64 Wh capacity is rated for continuous transmission cycles rather than brief key-ups. A fully decoded chip reports remaining capacity to the radio exactly as the original pack does, so the fuel gauge stays accurate during long shifts. After two or three full charge and discharge cycles the cell reaches its rated runtime. The protection circuit limits current if the radio draws more than the pack can safely deliver.

Charging interface limits

The battery charges through the radio’s standard drop-in or desktop charger at the voltage and current the original equipment specifies. Using an unregulated or higher-voltage adapter can trigger the over-voltage protection and reduce cycle life. Storage above 60 °C or 140 °F accelerates permanent capacity loss. The pack is not designed for parallel connection or external high-current loads.

Questions about this item

Does the 7.2 V 1200 mAh pack run warm during extended transmit cycles?

The lithium-ion chemistry and built-in protection circuit keep heat low; normal warm-up is similar to the original KNB-11A during long talk sessions.

Which charger works with the Cameron Sino 1200 mAh 7.2 V battery?

Any Kenwood-compatible desktop or drop-in charger that accepts KNB-11, KNB-12 or KNB-18A packs will charge this battery correctly.

Will this 60.20 x 57.84 x 30.92 mm pack fit my older TK-350G without case modification?

Yes, the dimensions match the OEM KNB-12A exactly, so it slides into the TK-350G battery latch with no filing or shimming required.
