Genuine Chroma Optimizer for PRO Series

This genuine Canon PFI-1700 cartridge contains 700 ml of pigment-based Chroma Optimizer ink. It is designed for the imagePROGRAF PRO-2000 and PRO-4000 large-format printers. Professional photographers and graphic designers use it to expand colour gamut and increase black density. The single-tank supply supports extended print runs without frequent changes.

Passive supply with no moving parts

The cartridge has no fans, pumps or heaters, so it adds no noise or heat to the printer. Ink flows by gravity and internal pressure, drawing negligible power from the host device. There are no thermal throttling concerns or acoustic signatures to manage. Normal operation is silent and thermally neutral.

Sealed tank with keyed installation

The tank arrives factory-sealed to prevent pigment settling or contamination during storage. A keyed nozzle ensures it fits only the correct Chroma Optimizer slot on the PRO-2000 or PRO-4000. The 700 ml volume reduces the frequency of hands-on swaps during high-volume production. It is not suitable for printers outside the named PRO series.

Questions about this item

How is the PFI-1700 cartridge installed in the imagePROGRAF PRO-2000, and what step do users often miss?

Open the ink tank cover, insert the 700 ml cartridge into the Chroma Optimizer slot until it clicks, then close the cover; the step often missed is removing the orange protective cap before insertion.

What maintenance will the Chroma Optimizer ink system need after extended use?

The printer will prompt printhead cleaning cycles that consume Chroma Optimizer ink; the 700 ml tank must be replaced when the low-ink warning appears to maintain gloss uniformity.

What limit appears first during a long, continuous print run on the PRO-4000?

The 700 ml Chroma Optimizer supply is the first consumable to deplete during sustained high-coverage printing, requiring a tank swap before the job can finish.
