24-inch 6-color poster printer

The Canon imagePROGRAF GP-200 is a 24-inch large-format thermal inkjet printer built for businesses that produce posters, signage and promotional graphics in-house. Its six-colour LUCIA TD pigment set adds a dedicated fluorescent pink channel to the standard five colours, expanding the gamut for eye-catching visuals.

2400 dpi thermal inkjet limits

The thermal print head reaches a maximum resolution of 2400 dpi, which suits detailed graphics and text but is not optimised for continuous-tone photographic work. Print speed for an A1 sheet is approximately 25 seconds, so high-volume runs will queue. Direct USB printing accepts only JPEG and PDF files, and the internal hard drive stores jobs for reprinting without a host computer.

Straightforward setup with borderless aids

A 3-inch colour touchscreen guides network connection, media loading and calibration through on-screen prompts. High-precision edge detection enables borderless printing on any supported roll width, removing the need for manual trimming. Ink tanks come in 130 ml and 300 ml capacities and are replaced from the front; the printer must be powered on during replacement to avoid head sealing issues.
