Canon 8788B001 Matte Black Ink Cartridge

Genuine Matte Black Cartridge for ImagePROGRAF

The Canon 8788B001 is a single genuine Matte Black ink cartridge built for the ImagePROGRAF IPF780 large-format printer. It supplies the PFI-207 high-capacity formulation required for neutral greyscale output on fine-art and proofing media. Professional photographers and print shops use it to maintain consistent density across long print runs.

Stable Output with No Thermal Load

As a passive consumable the cartridge adds no heat, noise or electrical draw to the printer during normal operation. The pigment formulation is designed to resist clogging so routine cleaning cycles stay short and infrequent. Print quality remains steady from the first page to the last drop without thermal throttling or fan-speed changes.

Chip Authentication Keeps Workflow Predictable

The onboard chip reports true remaining volume to the printer firmware, preventing unexpected stops mid-job. Genuine Canon chemistry matches the factory ICC profiles so soft-proofing stays accurate without custom recalibration. Third-party refills lack this integration and can shift colour balance or void the printer service agreement.
