Canon EOS 5D Mark IV USA Kit Body

The Canon EOS 5D Mark IV is a full-frame DSLR camera body supplied as a USA model kit box with the lens removed. It features a 30.4 MP CMOS sensor and a DIGIC 6 processor for versatile shooting. Continuous shooting reaches up to 7.0 frames per second. The ISO range spans 100 to 32000 with expansion to 50 and 102400.

Bundled software and accessories impact

The kit box no longer includes a lens, so buyers must source compatible glass separately. In-camera 4K video recording at 30p or 24p allows an 8.8 MP still frame grab from footage. Built-in Wi-Fi, NFC and GPS functions add wireless transfer and location tagging. Canon Digital Photo Professional 4.5 software is available for raw processing and image adjustment.

Suits stills and video shooters needing full frame

This body suits photographers who want a 30.4 MP full-frame sensor with a 61-point AF system and 41 cross-points for tracking. Videographers gain 4096 x 2160 resolution and a touch-screen LCD monitor with 1.62 million dots. Buyers who need a lens included in the box or who require higher continuous burst rates should look at other options.

Questions about this item

How often should the shutter mechanism be checked or replaced on the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV?

Canon does not publish an official shutter-life rating for this model, so a specific replacement interval cannot be given. Regular professional servicing is recommended for high-volume use.

What limits continuous shooting duration on the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV?

The 7.0 frames per second burst is limited by the internal buffer capacity; sustained shooting slows once the buffer fills, and write speed to the memory card then becomes the bottleneck.

How hot does the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV get during all-day 4K video recording?

Extended 4K recording at 30p or 24p generates noticeable heat; the camera may display a temperature warning and eventually stop recording to protect internal components.
