Canon iP8720 9600 x 2400 dpi inkjet printer

13 x 19 borderless photo printer

The Canon PIXMA iP8720 is a wireless inkjet printer built for photographers and creatives who need borderless prints up to 13 x 19 inches. It uses a six-colour ink system that adds gray to the standard cyan, magenta, yellow and black cartridges. Maximum colour resolution reaches 9600 x 2400 dpi while black output prints at 600 x 600 dpi. Connectivity includes Hi-Speed USB and Wi-Fi supporting 802.11 b/g/n standards.

Six-colour ink system with gray cartridge

The extra gray ink expands tonal range and improves black-and-white photo rendering compared with four-colour printers. Compatible cartridges include PGI-250 pigment black and CLI-251 colour tanks in standard and XL capacities, with the XL tanks holding more ink for longer print runs. An auto sheet feeder holds 150 sheets of plain paper and accepts media sizes from 4 x 6 inches up to 13 x 19 inches, plus envelopes. Borderless 4 x 6 inch photos print in approximately 36 seconds.

For photo enthusiasts needing large format

This printer suits users who regularly produce borderless prints up to 13 x 19 inches and value the gray ink for monochrome work. It is not designed for high-volume office document printing where faster monochrome speeds or lower cost per page are priorities. Buyers who need automatic duplex printing, an Ethernet port, or a built-in card reader should look at other models. Windows 10 through XP SP3 32-bit are supported.
