Small-office all-in-one printer

The Canon MAXIFY GX2020 is a refillable inkjet all-in-one designed for small-office use. It prints, copies, scans and faxes from a single device. A 35-sheet auto document feeder handles multipage originals automatically. The 250-sheet bottom cassette holds plain paper for longer runs.

Connectivity and speed limits

LAN, USB 2.0 and Wi-Fi interfaces connect the printer to a network or a single computer. Print speed reaches 15 ppm in black and 10 ppm in colour. Optical scan resolution is 1200 x 2400 dpi with 8-bit colour and greyscale depth. Duplex printing is automatic but only for single-sided scans via the ADF.

Setup and common issues

A 2.7-inch colour touchscreen guides the initial configuration so the device is ready in minutes. Refillable ink tanks replace cartridges and yield up to 3000 black or 3000 colour pages per set. Users must load each of the four ink bottles correctly to avoid air bubbles. The ADF scans one side per pass, so double-sided originals need manual refeeding.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 250-sheet cassette or the 35-sheet ADF for my volume?

The 250-sheet bottom cassette handles daily plain-paper loads, while the 35-sheet ADF automates multi-page copy, scan and fax jobs; both are built in, so you use each for its task.

What does the 15 ppm black and 10 ppm color rating mean for everyday printing?

Those are maximum engine speeds; real-world throughput drops with duplex, high-resolution settings or mixed content, but typical office documents print close to the rated pace.

How does the USB 2.0 port limit scan or print performance?

USB 2.0 links the printer directly to one PC; network tasks use the LAN or Wi-Fi interfaces instead, so the USB speed does not restrict shared printing or scanning.
