Product Identity

The Cassida 5520 UV/MG is a desktop cash counter built for businesses that process high volumes of banknotes. It verifies each bill using ultraviolet and magnetic sensors while counting at up to 1,300 bills per minute. Infrared detection prevents miscounts caused by double notes, half notes or chained bills. Snap-open front access and self-lubricating bearings simplify daily maintenance.

Who This Suits

Retail managers, bank tellers and back-office staff who need fast, authenticated counting with automatic start and batch functions will benefit. Operations that require mixed-denomination value sorting or serial-number capture should look elsewhere, as this unit only counts pieces and checks security features.

Deciding Specification

The 1,300 bills-per-minute throughput combined with UV and magnetic authentication defines whether this model matches the required speed and security level for the intended cash-handling workflow.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 5520 UV/MG or a different Cassida counter for mixed-denomination batches?

The 5520 UV/MG authenticates each bill with ultraviolet and magnetic sensors while counting at 1,300 bills per minute, but it does not sort by denomination; choose a sorter model if you need value breakdowns.

What does the 1,300 bills-per-minute rate mean when I run a stack through the hopper?

That is the maximum throughput under ideal conditions; infrared detectors stop the count for double notes, half notes or chains, so actual speed drops when the machine pauses to clear a suspect bill.
