First telescope for beginners

The Celestron AstroMaster 90AZ 21063 is a refractor telescope designed for newcomers to astronomy. Its 90 mm aperture gathers enough light for clear views of the Moon, planets and brighter deep-sky objects. The included "The Sky" Level 1 software helps users identify thousands of celestial targets from a laptop.

Tool-free setup with Alt-Az mount

The telescope arrives pre-assembled with a quick-release dovetail that requires no tools for attachment. A rugged tripod provides a stable platform while the pan-handle Alt-Az control with clutch allows smooth manual tracking. Erect image optics and a permanently mounted StarPointer make it equally suitable for daytime terrestrial viewing.

Upgrade from basic spyglasses

This model replaces handheld binoculars or small starter scopes that lack a stable mount and finderscope. The jump is worth it when you want magnification up to 213x with a rigid tripod that eliminates hand shake. It is not for observers who need motorised GoTo tracking or larger aperture for faint galaxies.
