PWM fan hub expands one header to five ports

The CERRXIAN CX-301 is a 4-pin PWM fan power splitter that turns a single motherboard CPU fan header into five fan connections. It is designed for PC builders who need to add multiple case fans but have limited headers on their board. The 15-inch braided cables reach across standard ATX chassis layouts. The pack contains two identical splitter cords.

Braided 15-inch cables connect to 4-pin

Each splitter has one 4-pin male connector for the motherboard CPU header and five 4-pin male outputs for fans. Four outputs serve case fans while one retains the tachometer pin for speed reporting. The cords accept both 12V 4-pin PWM and 3-pin voltage-controlled fans. Braided sleeving protects the copper conductors inside the case.

Double-sided tape secures the hub without tools

Installation requires plugging the male end into the motherboard and pressing the hub body onto the chassis with the included adhesive tape. No drivers or software configuration are needed. Only one fan header per splitter reports speed data because the motherboard cannot monitor multiple tachometer signals simultaneously. Three-pin fans connected will run at full voltage without PWM control.

Questions about this item

How many fans can one splitter run before the motherboard header reaches its current limit?

Each splitter provides one CPU-fan header with tachometer feedback and four case-fan headers, so a single 4-pin motherboard header powers up to five fans per cable.

Does the braided cable run hot or add audible noise when all five fans spin continuously?

The tinned copper conductors inside the nylon braided sleeve keep resistance low, and the cable itself carries only power and PWM signals, producing no measurable heat or noise.

Which motherboard header do I need free to use this splitter?

A standard 4-pin PWM CPU or chassis fan header is required; the male plug includes the tachometer pin so the board can monitor one fan’s speed.
