15 ft outdoor extension cord

This 15 ft outdoor extension cord supplies 125 volts of alternating current at up to 13 amps for three NEMA 5-15R outlets. It uses a 16/3 SJTW cable with a NEMA 5-15P plug and is ETL/cETL listed for safe indoor and outdoor use. The cord suits holiday lights, patio appliances and garden tools.

16/3 SJTW cable limits

The 16/3 SJTW construction delivers 1625 watts maximum, so the combined load of all three outlets must stay within 13 amps. The PVC jacket is rated IP65 for water and dust resistance and remains flexible in freezing cold and heat. It is not intended for permanent wiring or loads above the rated figures.

16 gauge wire gauge

The 16 gauge conductors set the 13 amp capacity that decides whether this cord fits your application. Over 20000 bend tests confirm mechanical durability for repeated coiling. A hook-and-loop strap and mounting hooks with nail holes simplify storage and placement.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 15 ft version or a different length?

This model is supplied only as a 15 ft cord with three grounded outlets. The 16/3 SJTW cable is rated for 13 amps and 125 volts, delivering up to 1625 watts.

What does the 13 amp rating mean when I plug in my tools?

You can draw up to 13 amps continuously — roughly 1625 watts at 125 volts — so most holiday lights, patio heaters or handheld power tools will run without tripping the circuit.

The cord is marked 16/3 SJTW and IP65 — what does that cap in practice?

The 16-gauge three-conductor SJTW jacket is rated for outdoor use and the IP65 rating means it resists rain, snow and dust. The ETL/cETL listing confirms it meets safety standards for indoor and outdoor service.
