Cobra HG-S300 External Speaker

The Cobra HG-S300 is a noise-canceling external speaker designed for radio users who need clearer audio in noisy environments. It connects to compatible radios to boost output beyond built-in speakers. The unit delivers 15 watts of power for louder, more intelligible communication. It suits mobile or base-station setups where ambient sound interferes with reception.

15-watt output and noise cancellation

The 15-watt amplifier provides enough volume for vehicle cabins, workshops or outdoor use where background noise is present. Noise-canceling circuitry reduces engine hum, wind and chatter so voice transmissions remain understandable. Headroom is limited to the rated 15 watts; very large spaces or extreme ambient levels may exceed its capability. Buyers needing higher output or multi-speaker coverage should consider a more powerful PA system.

Questions about this item

Will the 15 watt output overdrive my older CB radio's internal speaker?

The HG-S300 connects via the radio's external speaker jack and the radio automatically mutes its built-in speaker, so the 15 watt amplifier drives only this unit.

How can I confirm the noise-canceling circuit is active after I plug it in?

With the speaker powered and the CB receiving a signal, switch the noise-canceling control on; background hiss should drop noticeably while voice audio remains clear.
