Cognex DataMan 70-Series 2D Barcode Scanner

The Cognex DMR-72Q-0110 is a fixed-mount 2D barcode reader built for label-based scanning tasks. It suits manufacturing lines and logistics stations that need reliable decoding of printed codes on fast-moving items. The compact industrial housing fits tight machine spaces without extra mounting hardware.

Capacity and headroom for label-based codes

This reader handles standard 2D symbologies on labels at typical conveyor speeds found in packaging and sortation. It decodes Data Matrix and QR codes cleanly when print quality meets common industry grades. Very small modules or heavily damaged labels may exceed the practical decode range of the 70-Series optics.

Upgrade path from basic 1D scanners

Teams moving from single-line laser scanners gain 2D capability without changing mount points or rewiring. The jump is worthwhile when new label formats require Data Matrix or QR support on existing lines. Operations staying with 1D-only labels will not use the extra decoding capacity.

Questions about this item

Can the DataMan 70-Series DMR-72Q-0110 read 2D label-based barcodes from older printed labels I already have?

Yes, the 70-Series 2D reader is designed for label-based barcodes, so it will scan your existing printed 2D labels without needing new media.

How do I confirm the DMR-72Q-0110 is decoding correctly after I mount and connect it?

After setup, present a known-good 2D label; the reader will indicate a successful decode through its built-in status feedback, confirming it is operating as intended.

What comes with the DMR-72Q-0110 and what must I source separately?

The box contains the DataMan 70-Series reader itself; cables, mounting brackets, lighting and any interface modules are sold separately.
